Accessibility statement
I want everyone to be able to use lovemyweb.com comfortably - including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, zoom, or who have low vision. This statement explains what is in place, how I test it and what is still missing.
1. Standard and conformance status
The target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2at level AA. The site is partially conformant: it meets the requirements covered by the checks below, with the exceptions listed in section 4. This statement covers lovemyweb.com; the Polish version (lovemyweb.net) has its own statement.
2. What is in place
Structure and language
Semantic HTML with one H1 per page and a logical heading order, page regions (header, navigation, main content, footer) and the page language marked correctly, including links to the Polish version.
Keyboard
Everything works with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter and Escape. The first Tab shows a “Skip to content” link. Focus is always visible. The mobile menu, video windows and photo gallery close with Escape, keep focus inside while open and return it to where you started. The before/after slider can be moved with the arrow keys.
Contrast
Text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 (WCAG 1.4.3), and form field borders and controls at least 3:1 (WCAG 1.4.11). Colours are defined in one place, so the same rule applies on every page.
Images
Photos and images that carry content have text alternatives; for app mock-ups and before/after screenshots the alternative text describes what the image shows. Decorative elements are hidden from screen readers.
Forms
Every field has a visible label, required fields are marked in the code, and error and sending messages are announced to screen readers. The multi-step brief checks each step before moving on. Spam protection runs in the background (Cloudflare Turnstile) - there is no puzzle to solve.
Zoom and small screens
Content reflows down to 320 px wide without horizontal scrolling, so the site can be zoomed to 400% without losing content.
Motion and media
If you turn on reduced motion in your system, animations and smooth scrolling are switched off. Videos never play on their own - they load only after you click and stop when you close the window.
Time
There are no time limits and no content that disappears after a moment.
No tracking pop-ups
This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner to get past.
3. How the site is tested
- Automated audit: axe-core 4.10 (WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 rules at levels A and AA, plus best practices) on every main page. Result on 19 October 2026: 0 issues on every page checked, on desktop and mobile.
- Colour contrast: Every text and background colour pair in the design system is calculated with the WCAG formula; colours that missed the threshold were darkened.
- Keyboard: A manual pass through the navigation, mobile menu, forms, slider, video windows and gallery using the keyboard only.
- Screen widths: Checked at 320, 390, 768, 1024, 1152, 1280, 1366, 1440 and 1512 px - no horizontal scrolling or overlapping content.
- With every change: These checks are part of how the site is built: new sections are checked before they go live, and the automated audit is repeated after bigger changes.
4. Known limitations
- Some videos linked from the articles are in Polish and do not have English captions or transcripts.
- Third-party services (YouTube, Mux, Cloudflare Turnstile) follow their own accessibility standards, which are outside my control.
- Testing with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA) is not yet done on a regular schedule - the results are based on the checks described above.
5. Report a problem
If anything on the site is hard to use, or you need content in a different format (for example text instead of a video), email [email protected]. I reply personally within 5 working days and will either provide the content in an accessible format or fix the page.
